Book Review: Book Lovers by Emily Henry

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There is a lot to praise about Emily Henry's newest novel Book Lovers: we have a fierce heroine who isn't afraid of a little ambition; endless amounts of laugh-out-loud humour throughout and a romance plot that will leave any reader swooning. This book has been noted as the perfect beach read, but in my opinion, this book is perfect for any time of year and has very quickly become my new comfort read, no matter what the season is. It was so easy to just fall in love with each of the characters and to be able to relate to Nora in a way that I never deemed possible. Emily Henry has created an almost anti-rom-com heroine in Nora; someone who is quirky, lovable and most importantly headstrong. It is these types of romances that I am automatically drawn to over any other genre. It really is difficult to fault and now I can see why so many people rave about the amazing work of Emily Henry!

About The Book:

You guessed it! As the title most definitely suggests, this book is about two bibliophiles who discover that they have lots more in common than just their love for reading. Nora Stephens' life revolves around books, paying very little attention to anything else besides striking huge deals for her literary clients and looking after her little sister Libby. So, when Libby begs her sister to take a trip away with her to the quaint little town of Sunshine Falls, Nora becomes automatically obliged to accept.

The romantics amongst us may expect picnics in the park or even bumping straight in to a handsome stranger like a scene straight out of Notting Hill. But, the only person who Nora seems to be bumping into is Charlie Lastra, a book editor from back home. Thrown into each other's paths again and again, Nora and Charlie's encounter definitely is not the meet-cute we would all be hoping for and it is safe to say that love at first sight is not on the cards for either of them. But as the two begin to spend more time together, what they quickly learn is that there is a whole new story out there for them both just waiting to be written!
